WI: League of Nations closes Suez Canal to Italian ships in 1935

Just an idea I've been having for while.

The League of Nations went down in history as paper tiger, but could that change?

Under the Convention of Constantinople from 1888 the canal is open for all Nations during peace and war.

But if the League of Nations really meant business to punish Italy for attacking another member state, closing the canal would cut the supply lines, and the British would be fully capable of doing so.

Since under League of Nations rules, Italy would not be allowed to vote in this case, it is not impossible.

What do you think?
