I watched a program on the History Channel last night about that fateful day in China. It got me thinking, what would have happened if some of the PLA units decided to side with the protesters rather than carry through with their orders to enter the sqaure at all cost? Now its unlikely that some PLA Major or Colonel would be sawyed by the protesters and your average Bejinig citzen who blocked the streets, but what if he had?

Well, to be brutally honest, i imagine that he, and his family might be occupying some very shallow graves right about now. 
I think the major way that it could change is coverage. (Sorry, Communications Major talking) I dont think the events of the day could change too much, there is just not enough scope. But, im seeing if there was more underground distribution of film of that time, even more international coverage, etc, then something might change. Dont know.
