The outcome of Night of the Living Dead

A few Weeks ago , My girlfriend and I were in Pittsburgh for a family event. So of course, We went to the cemetery where they filmed the orginal night of the living dead. Her and I talked about this after we left . So here we go :

What would be the ramification’s of the events of this movie ( forget the movies dawn and day ). According to an interview of george romeo , he stated they got the outbreak under control and the following movies where a what if they didnt .

Once peoples accept trepanation of recently dead peoples is a necessity, the affliction is not very dangerous. I don`t see even minor outbreak happening outside zone that already have an high mortality, such as war zones.
