1933 Danish Socialdemocratic MP Hartvig Frisch wrote the book "Pest over Europa" (Plague over Europe) condemming the Fascist-Communist-Nazi movements as the threat to democracy and stability.
WI the thesis won general adherence with the Socialdemocratic Parties of Europe so as to accept involvement in the Spanish Civil War.
Supplying the Government with arms and allowing volunteers to go fight; all to contain the spread of the totalitarian plague by combatting the Fascists in the field AND at the same time limit Soviet influence on the Spanish political system!
It would of course demand make for a change in Danish government policy from lying low in regards to Germany but also in regard to traditional non-activist foreign policy of neutrality to take part/the lead in the rallying of the European Socialdemocratic parties to defend democracy!
