Post-ACW/Pre-WWI Anglo-American War

How can a war occur between the US and the British Empire prior to 1914 but after 1865? Namely I am aware of events like the Venezuela Crisis of 1895, and even troubles but I cannot seem to find an event which could spark a proper war between the two powers.

They is lots of ways a war could happen. America and England hateing each other a lot. The Whale against the wolf, a war in 1896, by Andrew Roberts, is one.

You're probably in the wrong forum, because the POD would almost certainly, I'd think, have to be pre-1900.
