A recreation of the Jesusland map, an Internet meme created shortly after the 2004 U.S. presidential election that satirizes the red/blue states scheme.

Blue- Northern States of America (Symbolizing the Democrats)
Red- Jesusland (Symbolizing the Socialists)

Some versions have Alberta as part of Jesusland.

The original image was created on November 3, 2004, on a message board. It quickly became an Internet meme, which The New York Times described as an "instant Internet classic." However, the map is criticized as it not only depicted the voting demographics in the United States inaccurately, but many claim it to be bigotry against Catholics, as Leo V. Enos, a Catholic, was re-elected to office a day before this map.
Wouldn't all of western Canada join with Jesusland as they will likely have more conservative state of Canada irl as well as likely as SV?
I used the Jesusland map of otl, which is why Quebec is here. Texas rejoins the Union in my headcanon. Also, yes, Lalli, you are correct that this map isn't right because it wasn't accurate to the 2004 election in my headcanon. Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Alamba, Georgia, and Mississippi, are swing states, Cuba votes Socialist, while the rest of the region votes Democratic.
Jesúsland is a 2000s meme so it is likelihood that it will just ignore it or didn't know about it

Western Canada, in my headcanon, votes Republican, and Eastern Canada and Newfoundland vote Socialist, even into the 2010s and 2020s. Still trying to work out details for Canada after admission.

Some people still use the map in otl. However, considering the inaccuracies in this map, people would just laugh at how it is in TL-191.

I would imaginate that almost all Canadian provinces would vote Republicans. Former Maritime provinces might are swing states between Democrats and Socialists.

And Alaska too might be swing state between Democrats and Socialists.

Sandwich Islands, which may change it name as Hawaii at some point, probably would vote Democrats. California probably is Democrat too. Baja California, Sonora and Chihuahua pretty surely go to Socialists.

Confederate Soldiers of the Army of West Texas in mortar pit just to the west of Lubbock; circa February, 1943. Although the Confederates were vastly outnumbered by the U.S. 11th Army, they were determined to hold the line, and prevent the fall of the largest city in West Texas.

Major General Abner Dowling would later say: "I have to admire the brave stupidity of such men."

It really would have been better had Turtledove wrote some, if not all, parts of Canada getting admitted to the Union either soon after FGW or sometime later. For my head canon, I have at least the Maritime provinces getting admitted after 1917.

Anyway, what has been decided among the TL-191 fandom as to what is the political persuasion of the Republican party? Even when I read the books, I never really got a direct understanding of what their platform was. Populism? Agrarianism? Big Tent?

What would they even be after SGW? I'm a big fan of the idea that in TL-191, there are three major, not two, political parties fighting for the Powell House Executive Mansion.

Good addition.

Good addition.

Not sure if it would had been plausible that Canadian provinces would had been admitted to the union yet during interwar years. But I think that Turtledove should had give some ideas what USA was planning like eventually admitting provinces to the union or only parts of Canada being union and rest being puppet state.

For Republicans I think that them should are agrarian and populist anti-establishment altough still economically pretty centric. Not sure how would be socially. But not anything like OTL GOP. And I think that their strongholds would are Canadian provinces and perhaps some Southern states and Mid-Western states.

End of the European Theater of the Second Great War

Following the surrender of Russia and France, and the CSA now on the verge of collapse, Great Britain, a shadow of itself, is now all alone in the Second Great War.
However, Britain successfully created their own Supermbomb: a new horrifying unleashed in Petrograd, Paris, Charleston, Newport News, and Philadelphia. By the war's end, the British had created two bombs. As a last-ditch effort to win the war, Prime Minster: Winston Churchill ordered the RAF to strike the city of Hamburg, the site of a major battle during the early years of the war.
In the summer of 1944, the citizens of Hamburg saw something bright in the sky.

Countless lives were lost in the bombing. The two most infamous deaths were of Sergent Adolf Hitler and Journalist Bentio Musslioni, who was in the city to report how the city was recovering from the battle in 1943.

Bentio Musslioni, in the 1930s, during his campaign to become Prime Minster of Italy.

While Germany was struck, they refused to surrender. Kaiser Wilhelm III promised revenge on the British. With bombs left over that were met to be used on France and Russia if they refused to surrender, the Germans made the task of crossing the English Channel and destroying the cities of London, Norwich, and Brighton.
Days later, that task was completed.

London in the immediate aftermath of the bombing.

British Parliament and the Royal Family escaped to Manchester just 24 hours before the bomb was dropped on London. What was left of the British government planned to strike Berlin in revenge.
Unfortunately, German forces in the Low Countries were on a high alter in case of another bomb hit Germany. German air defenses fired a turbo shot on the plane. Over the cities of Burges and Ghent, the bomb exploded.

Parliament realized that the war was lost. The Silver Shirt and Conservative coalition government were voted out.

Horace Wilson in 1944.

Horace Wilson, who had led the vote of non-confidence against the coalition government, was now Prime Minster of the United Kingdom. Immediately after taking office, Wilson sued for peace with the Germans. The Second Great War in Europe was now over.
Would Mussolini even go into politics? Would he be a Fascist or Socialist?

Picture of Australian troops during a military exercise, ca.1944.

Following the Japanese attacking British territory in the Pacific, Australia was put on high alert. Troops in Europe were sent back home to defend the Outback in case of a Japanese invasion. In September 1945, the Entente and Central Powers requested a ceasefire with Japan. The 1945 Berlin Peace Treaties stated that the Japanese would not take Australia and New Zealand. Australia voted to leave the British Empire in 1948, along with New Zealand and South Africa (the latter being under the Apartheid regime months prior). In early 1949, Austalia joined the Central Powers and was a member until the mid-1990s.

Was Hitler presented before the superbombing of Hamburg?
In the actual series, Hitler appeared in the Interwar books still in the German army, where he discriminated against a Jewish aid of Irving Morrell's and went on a rant about how he hated Jews and said that the world will be better off without them. Harry confirmed that character was Hitler.

When I was reading the series, I thought, "hope Hitler and Mussolini were blown up to smithereens in Hamburg."

Would Mussolini even go into politics? Would he be a Fascist or Socialist?
The books don't mention much about him, although it is implied that ran for Prime Minster and campaigned that he'll make the train run faster, to which he lost. (In otl, the saying "he made the trains run fast" was associated with him.) I made my own take on him in TL-191.

Although he wouldn't be named Benito because he was named a revolutionary in Mexico, and France conquered Mexico in TL-191.

General. Adolf Hitler speaking to and getting interviewed by journalist Giuseppe Mussolini in Hamburg, Germany in the Summer of 1944. This was a day before the superbombing of Hamburg. Hitler's last recorded words during this exchange was, in response to Mussolini asking about his thoughts on the Freedomite Confederacy getting nuked in Charleston. Hitler stated: "This is good. The Confederacy deserves to suffer for threatening and warring against the German People. I hope to fly over there and be the one to kill that Shabbos-Goy, Featherston. I have incontrovertible documentary proof that every single aspect of the Freedomite CSA Government is Jewish." Mussolini promptly rolled his eyes and frowned. Legend goes that after this, though not pictured, Hitler handed Mussolini a poster showing this claim, supposed "sources" to back this up, and even 2 Bible verses. This poster has never been confirmed to been uncovered, although the White Defense League, an anti-semitic and anti-black group in modern-day Germany claims to have the physical copy. They stayed in the train until the next day when they started inspecting the troops Hitler was in charge of leading in Hamburg. A short while after, the entire group, Hitler, and Mussolini died from the effects of the Superbomb the same day.

i somehow doubt that he would have made it to General by 1944 if i am being honest. Maybe a senior enlisted or on some General's staff, but i can't see him having risen that far from a lowly private.

He gave the leader of the no-no Germans that title because of a previous post of mine. In my defense, I was thinking of ranks, and general was the first thing that came to mind.

Sorry, but being in the military, it has made me conscious on how ranks are used. It has resulted in it bugging me when people use ranks incorrectly or unrealistically.

The exterior of the Great Wars History Museum in Moscow, Russian Social Republic, c. 2017. First opened in 1973, the Great Wars History Museum was created by the Russian Government to educate the Russian people about the Two World Wars and Russia's role in them. The museum would be rather infamous, as many of the exhibits in the Second Great War would make no mention of war crimes and atrocities committed by the Russians Armed Forces, especially following the museum's restructuring and renovations between 2015-2017. Furthermore, the renovations would also frame the Russian Invasion of Eastern Europe in 1941 as "a move to protect the Russian speaking populations of the region."

Was the museum run by Putin by chance? Either way good to know some things wouldn't change no matter the timeline. Not trying to get current politics involved.
