How do you intend to stop the Americans from at least taking Texas? Unless I'm mistaken, the more northern territories were sparsely populated, which was part of Mexico's difficulty in holding them - the Yankees formed the majority. I could see Mexico doing better in a second war after losing Texas w/the various reforms needed (military/social/economic/land). Furthermore, please explain how the Mexican Empire is going to become a figurehead monarchy, considering the fact that was not a custom followed by the Spanish, nor the Italian states for the most part.
