Is Southern China always fated to be conquered by Northern China?

From what I can till unification of China always came from the North, as did new dynasties. What would it take for the South to be the orginator of New Dynasties?

Hey, the nationalists started out in Guangdong....

:D

I think the Ming rebellion started in the south, but I'm not sure.

And look how they did! Invaded by Japan, and later forced to a tiny little island...

Plus one must admit that they did not do so against a united North. So is a non-united North the key?

The Ming's rebellion started at the Yellow River...

Well, South China has been won by China in the course of centuries. IMO it is certainly possible to change history such that the South stays independant.
