So I was watching 55 Days at Peking a day or so ago (hadn't seen it in a while) and to my surprise I've now noticed that the opening scene had the historically accurate British flag as used for embassies (not high commissions - which weren't even around in 1900 anyway).
I am referring to this flag:
as opposed to the regular Union Jack.
Sure the directors took liberties with other parts of the movie and it's depiction of the Siege of the legations at Peking and the whole Boxer rebellion, but even so it was kind of nice to notice that at least someone did their homework. Not like some films where you have to wonder if anybody even picked up a high school history book before filming.
