I came up with this...it would be circa 1880
***Race in Louisiana & Saint-Domingue: The Creole Idea, or "L'Idée Créole," is that eventually all persons in Louisiana & Saint-Domingue, and immigrants, will intermarry amongst themselves and the Creoles, eventually making everyone Creole. Thus positive-reproduction is practiced, and the only discrimination, legally, is against those considered "Non-Native."
Creoles-français~ Francophone Creoles of European, African, and Amerindian background; Consider themselves to be their own race native to the New World, range in skin tone from light to dark; Top tier of Louisianan society; Freedmen of Color often married into Creole families following the Revolution, forming the medium-colored Creole elite, resulting in the elimination of that society.
Creoles-espagnols~ Hispanophone Creoles of European, African, and Amerindian background; From the eastern portion of Hispaniola and Cuba; Assisted in Revolution and overthrow of Spanish rule; Consider themselves white, and dislike the French Creoles, though they are treated as top tier of society as well; Control governments of Cuba, Isle of Youth, and Spanish Dominica provinces.
Marronnage-Civilisé/Cimarrón~ Francophone and Hispanophone Maroons of African and Amerindian background that have immigrated into the society; After the Revolution, many Maroons found themselves acceptable in the new Creole-dominated society, as they were considered "fellow indigineous persons"; Treated as less-civilized Creoles, they are often wed to poor Creoles, and their offspring are considered Creoles; Many work as factory workers and other industrial jobs.
Métis/Mestizo~ Francophone and Hispanophone persons of European and Amerindian background; Many are from the upper classes of the Spanish-speaking provinces, while others are from Upper Louisiana and Illinois Country, emmigrating to the Republic after the sale of Upper Louisiana to Great Britain; They are generally disliked for being "too white," by the Creole elite.
Noirs~ Francophone and Hispanophone persons of unmixed African background; Formerly held as slaves, most Noirs have found themselves now being paid little for retaining their former jobs; Noirs enslaved to White Europeans were freed, and most followed the Freedmen of Color into marry into Creole families; Noirs enslaved to Creoles were offerred jobs as indentured servants; As they are unmixed, they are viewed as non-natives, and usually discriminated against; However, they are readily accepted into Creole, Marronnage, and Métis families by marriage, as they are then viewed as "Arrivants," and the offspring are considered as whatever their non-Noir parent was; They are banned from holding office or voting, as they are considered "Non-Natives."
Anciens-Gens~ Francophone and Hispanophone persons of unmixed European background; Formerly the ruling elite, the ones that chose to champion the "Cause créole," and stay in Louisiana found themselves in a slightly lowered position; Many that stayed retained plantations, however they are banned from holding office or voting, as they are considered "Non-Natives"; Many have married into Creole families.
