Austrian-Bavarian union 1735

In 1735 when the habsburg Emperor was looking for a husband for his daughter and heir Marai Theresia the Bavarian heir Maximilian Joseph (II) was suggested.
In the event Charles of Lorraine was preferred.

But WI this marriage had come off, in due course uniting Bavaria with Austria?

So the Hapsburgs are even stronger. I expect a different outcome of the Silesian wars.

No, the Habsburgs are extinct. The major reason a relatively minor lineage was chosen in OTL was the need to prevent a takeover of the Habsburg line by outsiders. Here, the Wittlesbachs (?) dominate central Europe. When the Silesian wars begin Prussia will be much more isolated than in OTL, with France unlikely to attack the traditionally friendly Wittlesbachs. This inturn means that France probably will intervene in the War of Jenkins' Ear, which would be bad news for Britain.
