As Dreamers Do Part Deux

Dear Tiffany
i am a huge fan of a recent series of books that came out called Percy Jackson could you lobby for your studio to purchase the rights for a movie to get produced with Alfonso Cuaron as director and Guillermo Del Toro as writer?
yours sincerely,
Deakin Causer

I feelt that it was a mistkae for newline to jump ship to universal parks. Universal has first and 3rd party ips that I feel that Newline gets dowrns out

New Line will come to regret it when the only room Universal will have for them is when Freddy shows up for Halloween Horror Nights.

Unless....

There was a way I can rearrange the City Walk and the Sheraton and Hilton Hotels at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Or....

I could try to get Peacock to buy the Lakeside Golf Club. But that might run into opposition from nearby residents.

Or....

Instead, Universal moves actual film production to the new backlot that Peacock is opening up in Playa Vista for DreamWorks and RKO.

Or...

If Disney, TBS+Paramount, Warner Parks (formerly Cedar Fair), Bally or Six Kings buys out Peacock's licensing pact with New Line.

Hello.

At the moment, Mr. Del Toro is working with Columbia-TriStar on an adaptation of the American McGee version of Alice in Wonderland.

Chris Columbus is already in post production on Percy Jackson and the Olympians. If that film proves successful, we hope to expand that into a franchise.

Sincerely,
Tiffany Disney

TBD
Kick-Ass (I don't know who actually owns Kick-Ass IOTL, so I might assign this one to maybe Luxor unless it would fit better somewhere else)
Prince of Persia (I don't know who got the rights after Broderbund folded IOTL. I have a feeling Prince of Persia came with Carmen Sandiego to Disney in 1999 ITTL but please remind me if that wasn't the case).
The A-Team
Knight and Day
(Even if this one wasn't that great IOTL, I still like the clever title)

Sounds like a good slate for Disney. Although, I'd have Wimpy Kid as a WDP branded film, while Percy Jackson is a dual-branded feature.
Paramount
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Despicable Me

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of Dawn Treader (Paramount/United Artists dual-branding)

Paranormal Activity 2

MGM anime dub to be named later
Of these, A:TLA, Despicable Me, Thundercats 2, Ghostbusters 3, and the upcoming MGM anime dub excite me the most.
Peacock
The Phantom (Universal; part of the King Features universe)
How to Train Your Dragon (DreamWorks)
Shrek Forever After (DreamWorks)
She's Out of My League (RKO)
Megamind (DreamWorks)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part One
Little Fockers
(Universal)
MacGruber (RKO; SNL Studios)
I would consider delaying Megamind to 2011, so that it doesn't fall victim to Despicable Me's success.
Touchstone
Toy Story 3 (Pixar)
Yogi Bear (Seth Rogen version)
May I ask what Seth Rogen had in mind with Yogi Bear?
Columbia-TriStar
Red
Jonah Hex
The Back-Up Plan
Is Red a movie based on Red Hot Riding Hood? I don't know what it is otherwise. Maybe a gritty retelling of the original fable, but not much else.
Luxor
Sex and the City 2

Lionsgate
Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Saw 3D

Warner Bros
Predators

New Line Cinema
Goosebumps (With Chris Rock as Slappy)
The Spy Next Door (Golden Harvest)
Pretty paltry lineups for these studios.
TBD
Kick-Ass (I don't know who actually owns Kick-Ass IOTL, so I might assign this one to maybe Luxor unless it would fit better somewhere else)
In our timeline, it was published by Icon Comics. Assuming it's the same label as IOTL, make it a Fox entry.
Prince of Persia (I don't know who got the rights after Broderbund folded IOTL. I have a feeling Prince of Persia came with Carmen Sandiego to Disney in 1999 ITTL but please remind me if that wasn't the case).
Ubisoft bought the property in 2001, so if the selling to Disney were to happen two years sooner than that, Prince of Persia would be a Disney property as you assumed.
The A-Team
Knight and Day
(Even if this one wasn't that great IOTL, I still like the clever title)
Grown Ups
Inception
Ramona and Beezus
The Other Guys
The Expendables
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Vampires Suck
Nanny McPhee
Machete
Alpha and Omega
(Made by Crest Animation IOTL)
The Social Network
Secretariat
I Spit on Your Grave
The King's Speech
Gulliver's Travels
(Jack Black version)
The Last Song
Get Him to the Greek
I think you can put most of these to their OTL distributors, but maybe have Ramona and Beezus under the Disney label.

Something to POSSIBLY add to the Disney section:

Thomas the Tank Engine film (Name not yet revealed, unless you wanna go with my idea and use "The Adventure Begins" as the title like the OTL special)

I think you said it is set for a Christmas 2010 release.

What's really wrong with the person in the middle?

Fair point.

Already stacked
CBS Discovery: DC Comics
Disney: Marvel and Harvey
Luxor: Dark Horse and Unicorn (formerly Paws, Inc)
Peacock: Archie, Gemini (formerly Charlton/Fawcett)

So Instead, I might have Wildstorm be absorbed into another publisher with less depth....

TimeWarner: WB Comics (Formerly Malibu/Pacific)
TBS+Paramount: Image (Image didn't actually own Spawn or Savage Dragon IOTL. But ITTL, now that TBSP have consolidated former EC and Quality properties under the Image banner, they now have Plastic Man, Tales from the Crypt, MAD, etc.)
Henson: CrossGen
Saban Metromedia: Eclipse

Christmas Comes Early for Vancouver!

Trey Wingo:
"While today has been understandably a slow day for NFL news here on SportsCenter, we know some of you are clamoring for more on what's going on over in the WLAF. Today, World League Commissioner Oliver Luck got an early Christmas gift that he hopes will quiet the relocation rumors surrounding the Vancouver Orcas. For that, let's go down the road to Stamford where Oliver Luck is at the podium..."

(Commissioner; World League of American Football)
***press conference joined in progress***

"While support for the Orcas in Vancouver may have seemed apathetic at times, especially when the team struggled on the field, we recognize that Vancouver is too big of a media market for us to leave behind."

"Today, I am proud to announce that the World League has approved the sale of the Vancouver Orcas to an investment group led by actor and Vancouver native Ryan Reynolds."

***applause***

Ryan Reynolds
"Thank you Oliver. I've played smartasses and slackers on screen. But in real life, I have always wanted to branch out into sports ownership long before my acting career began. I pledge to you and the fans back in Vancouver that the Orcas won't be just a toy. I want the world - not just the World League - but the world at large, to know that we Vancouverites are more than just the Canucks, or the BC Lions, or the Whitecaps or Grizzlies. I want sports fans everywhere to know that there's plenty of room for the Orcas in my hometown."

I beg to differ on Luxor and Peacock. I think they could be in the running to acquire Wildstorm in this timeline.

However, if we had to stick to WB, TBS, Henson, or Saban, I would go with the last of the four.
