Okay, based on this thread, which rather succinctly emphasised the problems of attempting a D-Day style landing in Europe in 1943, I have to wonder, with a POD no earlier than 5 June 1940 (the day after the Durnkirk evacuation ended), I have to wonder, is there any way for things to develop differently that could lead to Allied (ie, British, American, et al.) troops forcing a landing somewhere in Europe (except Italy), some time in 1943?
