AH Challenge: Satanist dictatorship

There. I said it. Your challenge, should you accept it, is to have a Satanist dictatorship in at least one country of the world. Bonus points if it is a major country (one with large population, industrial base, and standing in the world affairs - regional power, or even a great power). Extra bonus points if there is a Satanist block (as in, Communist block, fascist block, etc) of countries.

The POD has to be post-1900. Have at it!

Should this Satanist dictatorship have some form of Satanism as its state religion, or is just having a Satanist ruling elite enough?

It needs to be either a state religion, or a state ideology... having Satanist ruling elite alone does not qualify (for all we know - insert tinfoil hat here - that might already be the case somewhere).

Maybe instead of being an occultist, Himmler becomes a Satanist. Hitler is assassinated/dies, and Himmler becomes Furher and installs Satanism as the state religion.

Think it would go over like a lead balloon in a nation of Lutherans and Catholics - even if its ordained from on high. The Italians will certainly have problems with such an ally.

I imagine Himmler coming to power in 1944 by von Stauffenberg. By then, I don't think the Italians were in any mood to complain. :D

Suppose there are several different varieties of Satanism in control of several different countries.

This would include varieties of gnosticism, and one somebody suggested here, where Lucifer is supposedly the fourth member of the "Trinity". (What would be the word? Quadrity? Quaddity?)

I wonder how they would get along?

They might be anarchist, and with no law and order, how would they avoid getting conquered by their neighbors, who might also be Satanist?

Depending on how you view the Trinity, that would mean Lucifer and God where the same person. :eek:

WWII does not go nearly as well for the Allies, what with Churchill's failures in the Invasions of Norway and the Balkans. By 1960 CE PM's occupy the highest office in revolving terms like Gladstone and Disraeli. With the solidest majority ever seen in Commons the Satanist PM is a virtual dictator and about to accomplish the Satanist's
greatest achievement, the end of the British Monarchy.

As a Satanist, I must declare an interest as I say this, but, the doctrines of Satanism are completely incompatible with non-consentual government.

However, I do recall a while ago, (shortly after I first joined this site), I responded to a thread with the idea of 'Satanic Socialism', a brand of socialism attached egotheistic Satanist philosophy. This was basically my attempt to create a more individualistic, people-friendly communist movement - however, such a movement would clamp down on the established religions.

Furthermore, I'd like to add that the term 'religion' hardly applies to Satanism. Satanism is more like an anti-religion, instead of attempting to associate temporal things to a higher power, whilst Satanism fully rejects the validity of such a view.

Note that I did not specify LaVeyan brand of Satanism, which is what you are talking about, if I am reading it right. It can be any form of religion or ideology as long as it identifies itself as Satanic, and with the POD of after 1900.
