A Bomb delayed by security

WI there had in fact been a big purge of pro Soviet folk on the Manahatten project. Stalin would not have the information.

But would the bomb be postponed until after the Soviet declaration of War in August 45?

Might that have resulted in Japan surrendering without be atom bombed?

Honestly due to wartime pragmatism there wouldn't be a purge in the sense of removing them from the project, they're too valuable. What could happen is that they find it very hard to communicate with the outside world and are watched closely, and likely obviously even to the scientists, to ensure they aren't trying anything.

After the war I'm sure Hoover could come up with something to arrest them for

The Theory is where most of the spies were at(Fuchs and Hall) but the delays was in engineering in making the U235 and Pu239 for the cores.

Not seeing any delay
