In 2012, Dreamworks Animation bought Classic Media for $155 million. What if Disney had bought it instead? This would have given them the rights to many classic characters such as Casper, The Lone Ranger, Rocky and Bullwinkle as well as the libraries of companies like Filmation, Western Publishing, UPA, and more. This would have given Disney many opportunities to profit off from all these properties. I could easily see Casper, Rocky, Bullwinkle, and others appearing at Disney parks. I could also see Disney doing crossovers of the Harvey Comics characters with Disney creations like Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. What do you think would have happened if Disney had bought Classic Media? How would that have changed things? Would they still have bought Fox or might they have tried to buy TimeWarner before AT&T made their successful offer?
