  1. WI: 1960s Batman television series is more serious in tone?

The movie had Lee Meriweather from THE TIME TUNNEL. She later went on to do a number of episodes of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE. And IT TAKES A THIEF had an interatial kiss just about the same time as STAR TREK's...
  2. WI: 1960s Batman television series is more serious in tone?

You forgot the first season with Ian Hendry, which I understand was really dark (Hendry was avenging his fiancee's murder). My understanding was that only one episode of Season 1 still exists, it's on YouTube and I've seen it...
  3. WI: 1960s Batman television series is more serious in tone?

Not so much "blessing" but "creative control" so nothing he didn't like got aired. Unlike the original THE UNTOUCHABLES where the show has the Untouchables go after The Barker Gang, Hoover was livid about that...
  4. WI: 1960s Batman television series is more serious in tone?

I feel THE MAN FROM UNCLE was the right balance between seriousness and light comedy. OTOH THE GIRL FROM UNCLE was tongue-in-cheek from moment one. BATMAN Season Three had but one purpose - to keep Burt Ward from doing THE GRADUATE...
  5. Who might become commander of the Army of the Potomac. . .

Would greater pressure be put on Lee to take command or was it too late by this point?
  6. The Death Collectors: Bond Films that Never Were

Before turning to comedy Nielson was very much into drama. Besides FORBIDDEN PLANET he did the movie THE VAGABOND KING plus THE SWAMP FOX for Disney as well as episodes of THE UNTOUCHABLES, THE FUGITIVE, THE WILD WILD WEST, IT TAKES A THIEF, THE MAN FROM UNCLE, HAWAII FIVE-0, THE NIGHT GALLERY...
  7. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Who needs to blow it? The Maus is too big for the bridge and is stuck on the other side!
  8. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

A bridge works just as well as a blown track...
  9. AHC: An A-10 Thunderbolt II-Like Aircraft In Time For The War In Vietnam?

The A-1 was designed for the job and had armor, the S-3A is neither...
  10. AHC: An A-10 Thunderbolt II-Like Aircraft In Time For The War In Vietnam?

My biggest problem with the S-3A is its vulnerability to ground-fire. I really like the XA-26D, especially if it uses underwing pylons for rockets and rocket pods.
  11. WI the Cherry Blossoms fall on Bataan in the Spring of 1942?

We anime and Godzilla fans will never have existed...
  12. AHC: An A-10 Thunderbolt II-Like Aircraft In Time For The War In Vietnam?

Another vote for the A-1. You HAVE to respect an aircraft that takes off with a full ordinance load with the wings unlocked. Pilot lands, locks the wings and takes off again, there are few aircraft that are that forgiving. Would something like the IA-58 Pucarra be useful?
  13. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

Agree about bolted armor but that adds to the weight. And the 45mm was still useful but will rapidly become obsolete within a year although I don't know if anyone can see that yet...
  14. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

I agree, by 1939 the 45mm was on the weak side and the A-20 design couldn't be upgraded enough to do the job.
  15. Alternative History Armoured Fighting Vehicles Part 3

I always liked the A-20 and wonder what might have happened if it had gone into production instead of the T-34. The same with the T-50...
